The days are longer, there are hundreds of tiny ducklings in the river near my house, and people are smiling again - I don't think there is anywhere more beautiful than the UK in the spring!
I went to see the lovely Edwina Hayes in Grantham on the 1st, and was honoured to have her ask me up to play. She has said she would like to play one of the songs I wrote and sang that evening herself - I hope it wasn't an April Fool's joke!
I've played at some other interesting venues so far this year, and have picked up some semi-regular gigs now as well. I had the great pleasure of playing at Les Brown's art exhibition in Lincoln alongside The Rye Sisters and Eddy O'Dwyer, and also playing on the mezzanine at the NCCD in Sleaford. I'm doing more pub gigs and they are hugely enjoyable - last Sunday the Old Ship Inn in Pointon was brilliant! It's so much fun when people sing along, and I was given a list of requests to learn for next time.
